OneRobotics Partners with Shanghai Children’s Medical Center to Explore Smart Healthcare Robotics Applications for Children

2026-06-23

Recently, Shanghai Children’s Medical Center and OneRobotics have officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, focusing on the development of child-friendly hospitals and the enhancement of pediatric healthcare service capabilities.

The two parties will jointly explore innovative applications of healthcare-oriented intelligent robots in areas such as health education, hospital experience optimization, intelligent companionship, and health management for children.

Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is a Grade A tertiary specialized children’s hospital integrating medical care, research, and education. It was jointly established by the Shanghai Municipal Government and the World Health Foundation, officially opened in 1998, and was designated as a National Children’s Medical Center in 2017. The hospital holds strong influence in pediatric healthcare management, clinical research, and medical innovation translation.

Pediatric healthcare is not only about diagnosis and treatment, but also about the emotional experience and health understanding of young patients. Facing the unfamiliar and often stressful hospital environment, improving the patient experience through more human-centered and child-friendly communication methods has become an important direction in building child-friendly hospitals.

To address this, Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, the Harbin Institute of Technology Smart Healthcare and Health Research Team, and OneRobotics are jointly exploring the application potential of intelligent healthcare robots in non-clinical scenarios such as health education, inpatient companionship, and hospital guidance. Through natural language interaction and intuitive intelligent interfaces, medical knowledge can be translated into child-friendly expressions, helping young patients better adapt to the hospital environment and build a more compassionate healthcare communication bridge.

In the early-stage scenario validation and joint exploration process, OneRobotics leverages its expertise in embodied intelligence and multimodal interaction to support system design and application validation. The AI companion robot KATA Friends serves as a key application carrier of embodied intelligence in pediatric healthcare scenarios, assisting medical experts in evaluating its effectiveness in health education and emotional support for children.

Powered by OneRobotics’ self-developed AI brain, OneModel embodied intelligence system, KATA Friends is capable of understanding and adapting to physical environments and human interaction behaviors. It enables multimodal perception, natural language interaction, and emotional feedback within real-world environments, providing continuous and natural companionship experiences for children.

The development and deployment of intelligent healthcare robots is a long-term and systematic endeavor. Looking ahead, OneRobotics will continue to collaborate with Shanghai Children’s Medical Center, focusing on child health within a framework of medical compliance and data security. Together, they will advance scenario-based validation and capability iteration of embodied intelligence technologies, continuously exploring their value in pediatric healthcare systems and contributing to a safer, more compassionate, and sustainable child healthcare ecosystem.
